As-Sultan Monastery

It’s one of the old monasteries in Jerusalem. Its area is about 1800 meters. Right next to the monastery is the eastern roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It was restored in the Fatimid era, and was called As-Sultan Monastery, after Saladin took it from the Latins and gave it back to the Orthodox Copts.
Encouraged by the British during the mandate, the Ethiopians claimed that it belonged to them.
