Bar Kokhba Revolt

In 132, the leader Bar Kokhba gathered Jews and rebelled against the Roman reign in Palestine. He took shelter in one of the castles he took over. After 3 years, the Roman emperor Aelia Hadvian overthrew the revolution, and even wiped the trace of every Jew from the land. This is why the castle is now called “Kherbet Al-Yahood” (the ruins of Jews)
