The Church of Saint Anne

The Byzantines built it in the 5th century, as the house of Joachim and Anne, the father and mother of Virgin Mary. It was affected by the historical periods of time that Jerusalem has gone through. The Persians destroyed the church during their reign, while the Crusaders rebuilt it. Saladin turned it into a school after liberating the city. The British occupation turned it into a church once again in 1917.
