AlRibat in AlAqsa Mosque

AlRibat in AlAqsa Mosque

Introduction

– The people of Jerusalem took it upon themselves to defend the blessed Aqsa Mosque from the damage and desecration that the Israeli occupation causes to it.

– They defend it by staying in it and on its gates, to prove, to the enemy and the world, that this land is only for Arabs and Muslims, and that nothing in it is for the Israelis. The people of Jerusalem won’t rest until the occupation goes away and Jerusalem stays for its rightful people.

The Virtue of Ribat

– Prophet Mohammed, PBUH, said: “Observing Ribat (e.g., guarding the Islamic frontier for the sake of Allah) for a single day is far better than the world and all that it contains.

-A place in Jannah as small as the whip of your horse is far better than the world and all that it contains.

– It is far better from fasting the days of Ramadan and performing prayers at its nights.

– Observing Ribat for a month is far better from fasting for a
lifetime”. Also, he said: “Observing Ribat for a month is far better from fasting for a lifetime.

– Whoever dies in Ribat in the way of Allah will be protected from the Great Terror, granted provision from Paradise morning and evening, and the reward for guarding the frontier will come
to him until Allah the Almighty raises them”.

The Start of Ribat in Al-Aqsa Mosque

– After the outbreak of the Second Intifada in 2000, and the prevention of any restorations inside Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionist Occupation, the people of Jerusalem flocked and paraded in Al-Byariq buses from different regions to meet in Al-Aqsa Mosque’s courts.

In 2010, a project named “Masateb Al-I’lm” or the Terraces of Knowledge, was launched.
It increased the number of Al-Aqsa’s visitors. That’s when Ar-Ribat emerged publicly and increasingly.

– Yet, in 2015, the occupying authoritie prevented the continuation of the project as well as Ar-Ribat in the mosque.

The Golden List

– It is a list that was released in 2016. It contains the names of about 55 Murabitun, males and females, who participate prominently and have a clear impact over people and in Al-Aqsa Mosque. Most of them are females.

– This list aims at keeping them outand reducing their impact around  the mosque. The period of their removal may last for a few months or years.

The Time of Ribat

– Before 2010, there was what was called the Ribat of one day a week.

– During this period, Ribat days were distributed among the people of thedifferent Jerusalemite regions, as the people of each region observe Ribat a day a week. In that day, they leave their houses and work to go defend Al-Aqsa Mosque. Nowadays, there is no schedule for Ribat, but whenever there is an assault or break-in, a coordination between the people of Jerusalem is being made and they go out based on it.

Suppression and Prevention of Ar-Ribat

– Using different ways, the occupation tries to force the Murabitun to
withdraw. These ways may be beating, suppressing, and arresting them, in addition to seizing their cards, expelling them out of A-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, suspending their health insurance, and threatening them of confiscating their property and harming their families.
They even might use bombs and take off the women’s veils.

Supporting Al-Murabitun

– We can support them by voicing their cause, and the hardship that the people of Jerusalem suffer from, in every place possible. Also, we can expose the practices of the occupation on social media, and hold
conferences and seminars and participate in them.

– Moreover, we canspread Al-Aqsa-related culture, and highlight the role that Al-Murabitun play in preserving the mosque.
