The Occupation Prisons

The Occupation Prisons

Introduction

– The Zionist assault against the Jerusalemite prisoners continue to rise.

– There are a lot of Jerusalemites in the Occupation’s prisons, and they are subjected to various violations, since the Occupation forces try diverse torture methods, physically and psychologically.

– In this section, we will talk about some of these methods.

Solitary Confinement

– The occupation works to isolate some of the prisoners from the others, so that they do not have an impact on the rest.

– The isolated prisoner is affected physically and psychologically by this; where isolation breeds stress, tension and fear, never mind the small space that the prisoner is put in, that does not allow him to walk, so they are forced to stay in their place except when they go relieve themselves.

The Female Prisoners in the Occupation Prisons

– In jail, there are not only male prisoners, but also female Jerusalemites are held captives in the Occupation prisons, where they are being beaten and insulted.

– In the interrogation centers, there is more harm,as they face all the physical and psychological investigative techniques, like being battered and deprived from sleep for long hours, with no regard to their needs.

The Prisoners and the Social Status

– Due to spending time in prison, the prisoners experience psychological problems after being freed. Some of the most important problems, which children are the ones often have, are:

– Hyperactivity or inactivity

– The feeling of losing the social status, due to getting used to loneliness in jail and getting separated from their friends with whom they spent a lot of time in one room

– Becoming very stubborn

– Becoming stressed and moody all the time, and finding it difficult to sleep

The Disrespect of the Occupation for the Prisoners’ Privacy

– The Occupation’s prison service authorities violate the privacy of the female prisoners, by conducting night inspections, messing up with their stuff, seizing their holdings, and oppressing them using methods where their human rights are most violated.

– Not only that, they use very brutal methods, like forcing them to remove their hijab, or installing CVCs, and so limit their freedom.

The Occupation and Children

– The Occupation makes no distinction with regard to being young or old, or a child or a woman.

– The children who are imprisoned are being mistreatedandtortured during the interrogation.

– The main purpose of that is to obtain forced confessions from the children, and getting fine money from their parents.

The Conditions in Prisons:

– If you ask a prisoner about the conditions in a prison, they reply that it consists basically of rooms, which walls are musty and wet, and that it is unsuited for living, not to mention that it has very old latrines that have rodents coming out of them.

– There is also a small hole for ventilation, the occupation thinks of it as a window!

Administrative Arrest

– An administrative arrest is a procedure the Israeli Occupation Forces use to arrest civilians without any charge or trial.

– Using it prevents the prisoner or their lawyer from knowing the reasons for the arrest.

– The duration of the arrest ranges from 1 month to 6 months, and may be extended.

Conclusion

– Despite all the harm, arrest, torture, and bad conditions the Jerusalemites face, they are still steadfast and committed to stay in their holy land.

– They are full of hope and trust in Allah.

-The Jerusalemites are sure that the oppression will end soon, and the flags of freedom will be raised throughout Palestine.
