It is used to identify the direction of the Qibla in the mosque. The mihrabs are concentrated in the roofed prayer halls, such as Salah Al-Din mihrab in Al-Qibli Prayer Hall, and in the Dome of the Rock mosque, such as the mihrab of Bab Al-Jannah. Also, there are mihrabs in the squares of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, such as Jarkas and Zuhoor Mihrabs, in addition to the Mihrab of the Eastern Wall.
