Al-Aqsa Mosque contains a total of 21 mihrabs. Mihrab is the place where the imam stands for prayer, and where Muslims look when praying. It is used to identify the direction of the Qibla in the mosque. The mihrabs are concentrated in the roofed prayer halls, such as Salah Al-Din mihrab in Al-Qibli Prayer Hall, and in the Dome of the Rock mosque, such as the mihrab of Bab Al-Jannah. Also, there are mihrabs in the squares of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, such as Jarkas and Zuhoor Mihrabs, in addition to the Mihrab of the Eastern Wall.
