Al-Magharibah Quarter

After liberating the city from the hands of the Crusaders, King Al-Afdal ‘Son of An-Nasir Saladin” designated the entire Magharibah Quarter as waqf for the Moroccans who participated in the conquest. This is who it got its name. Throughout the ages, the quarter included a lot of waqf properties, like schools, buildings, prayer halls, worship corners, and many others.
