Israel succeeded in deporting 15 thousand Jews, from the Ethiopian Falashas Jews, by means of an airlift to Israel (Operation Shlomo).

Israel successfully airlifted 15.000 people of the Ethiopian Jews, the Falash, to ‘Israel’ (in what is known as Operation Solomon). The Falash (Beta Israel) is the name of Jews with Ethiopian origins. It’s a word of contempt and disrespect, as ‘Falash’ in Amharic means ‘the exiled’ or ‘the outsiders’, and it’s used by non-Jewish Ethiopians.
